How do you decide on the member?

Should be an exciting test – hopefully you produce a brilliant video as with the Anglesey test.

Ah, just found out how you enter the competition – too late though!

Oh well, i’ll learn from my mistakes.

Also, you should add an edit and delete option for posts people have made, at least so we don’t all end up looking like idiots.

Well the cars arrived this morning; firstly a white 911 GT2 looking pared to the bone and ready for battle against its more prima dona competitors, then the transporter arrived shedding a bright metallic orange Gallardo LP560-4.

First impressions? After spending the last few days in a new 911 Carerra S, the GT2 feels strangely unrespsonsive below 4000rpm, but to quote the delivery driver “..it feels mental thereafter”. It’s more of a ‘thrill ride’ after the more rounded Carerra S, but still controllable. You need to drive it with a loose grip, especially over the bumpy roads near our offices but it gathers massive pace very easily. The italians are definitely in for a fight today.

The LP560-4 in the metal definitely looks better than the Gallardo it replaces, more accomplished and complete. First impressions were of me banging my head off the roof as I applied the brakes – a little bit of progression would be nice. The LP560-4 comes with an alcantara steering wheel, which makes it feel well suited to this contest and the sound from its exhausts puts the GT2 very much in its shadow. Perhaps this won’t be quite such a walkover for Stuttgart’s finest.

Well they set off this morning to meet up with the Ferrari Scuderia for a straight-line comparison, then we will be on circuit later when we will learn which is the daddy on track.
