Blundell bullies Nissan R90 at Le Mans

Forget all that PC Blundell nonsense: over 1000bhp absolutely bullied around Le Mans. Epic

Yup great clip, a touch slow to start with until I realised he was on an out lap (durr!). The casualness which he deals with the oversteer and the bumpiness of the track itself were the two things that stood out for me here.

    Great find.

I also wondered what on earth you were talking w/r/t him bullying the car around, until I caught on when the timing readout popped up! Yes, I’m stupid.

Bullying is the correct word, too – that’s some work he’s doing at the wheel there! Incredible to see how quickly he catches the oversteer. If ever there was a driver built to monster a 1000bhp prototype around La Sarthe, it’s Mark Blundell. He’s a solid lad, and it’s a shame so many people think of him in terms of a slightly inarticulate pundit on ITV.

Also the fact that it’s manual shift, means he does a number of braking and acceleration zones with just one hand on the wheel.

    Truly heroic.

Amazing video, ultimate expression of a race car. The acceleration must just be mind bending. Thats without the ground effect in high speed corners. Guys like Brundle and Blundell were almost the last of a breed, those at the top in both F1 and in Sportscars. Just doesn’t happen these days unfortunately.
