You can now keep up to date with what we’re getting up to on DR by following us on Twitter. Twitter is a free social messaging utility for staying connected in real-time. It works by users writing short 140 character text messages (called tweets) which are automatically shared with those users who are following these updates.

If you already have a Twitter account then you just need to follow the link in the sidebar and click on “Start Following”. It’s that simple even Monkey can do it! If you are new to the world of Twitter all you need to do to follow our latest updates is follow the the same link below and sign-up, then connect to us at the username ‘DriversRepublic’.

See the following link for a full run-down of what Twitter is and how to use it.

We start our micro-blogging journey with the Geneva show, but will also be using Twitter to update you when new posts are published on Dialogue. You can even connect using an iPhone or other smartphone, so now you can keep in touch with us 24 hours a day.. Yikes!

The updates start tomorrow as Richard, Chris and Jethro start their journey to Geneva in a Porsche… a diesel one, so expect some un-edited feedback on how they are getting on as Dickie takes the biscuit (plural), Jethro yet again forgets to share the pies and Chris, well he’ll hopefully be providing updates on the journey and life with the Cayenne that Porsche said they would never build.

The rest of us will be joining them on Tuesday and will update you on our exploits as we peruse the new metal at Geneva. You can read the updates from our Twitter feed here on Dialogue, but you can also reply to those updates and perhaps steer us towards what interests you at Geneva this year.

So, connect yourself up and let’s see if we can make Geneva 2009 an interactive experience for DR readers.

@daytonafan – I really cannot say I was a fan of the 599XX, it looked even less relevant in the metal than I had originally assumed from the photos.

Let’s hope it is a prelude to providing a GT1-racing customer car, but when talking with Ferrari last week that’s not the impression we gained.

The California looked great on Ferrari’s stand but the 599XX had some truly questionable design details that pretty much ruined the lovely flowing lines of the original 599. Let’s hope the aesthetic compromise is suitably compensated for in the dynamic gains.
