Build a BMW X1… out of LEGO!

Over this coming weekend (Nov 6th – Nov 9th), visitors to BMW Welt in Munich will be invited to help build a BMW X1 as part of BMW’s campaign to bring “Joy” to its customers.

2,000 LEGO® blocks. Four days. One construction plan. BMW Welt will be transformed into an assembly hall.

All families and children aged 5 and over will be invited to build a full-scale BMW X1 – out of Lego bricks. Whether individually or in groups, everyone will be working together for a good cause, because for every Lego block used, BMW will donate a sum of money to the Munich children’s foundation “Die Arche”.

And if the kids begin to struggle then trained BMW staff will be on hand to help with the construction – which will carried out according to an exact plan (well they’re German aren’t they).

The finished BMW X1 made of Lego bricks will then stand proudly among the BMW automobiles on display within the BMW Welt Plaza. Somehow we think those BMW staff might end up becoming more involved than they’d like to…

Starting with Drivers Republic in 2007, followed by SkiddMark two years later, our goal has always been to support content makers and automotive brands as they transform towards an all-digital future. We do this through enabling aspiring writers, curating great content and disrupting conventional brand marketing to filter out the noise and encourage investment in areas that will benefit those who are passionate about driving.
