LEGO BMW X1 will take pride of place in BMW Welt

Following on from our report last week, we can now see the finished result created by the children who visited BMW Welt in Munich last weekend (with a little help from their parents and the employees of BMW Welt).

Involving 800 children aged between five and 13 years old, the full-sized BMW X1 model was built in just four days using 165,000 LEGO bricks.

The result is impressive – but we’re not sure about their choice of yellow colour!

The build of the model not only brought a lot of fun to the young car designers, but also served a good purpose. For each built-up Lego blocks, BMW will make a donation to the Children’s World “Die Arche” in Munich, where socially disadvantaged children are cared for.

The LEGO BMW X1 will be on display at BMW Welt from 25th November.
