Mini thinks out of the box with its Christmas campaign

Mini have produced some great viral campaigns in recent years, many of which we will be featuring on our new video site being launched soon. During the Christmas period Mini launched another campaign using the city (and citizen’s) of Amsterdam as its stage.

They chose an elegantly simple idea – take one full-sized cardboard box with the image of a Mini Cooper printed on its side, just as you would find on a box of spares from your local dealer’s parts department. Then place the box at strategic points around the city, sometimes accompanied by reams of wrapping paper giving the impression of a discarded container that Santa used when delivering a gift to its lucky recipient.

As you can see from the video, the box picked up a lot of attention which we’re sure will continue with the viral video that’s now been posted anonymously on YouTube.

Clever eh?
