Ken Block generally doesn’t do things by halves and his latest toy is no exception. There are many mind-boggling aspects to his “GYM3 Ford Fiesta” but the biggest one is that it puts out 650 horsepower. Yes, you read correctly, 650. And that’s down tuned from a potential 850 in order to make the car more driveable.
If you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years and don’t know who Block is, in short he is one of the co-founders of DC shoes, a company he grew from nothing into a multi-million dollar enterprise before selling up a couple of years ago to pursue his passion – rallying.
He then became an Internet sensation overnight with his precision display of talent in his Gymkhana series where he slid his Subaru Impreza round the dockyards in dramatic fashion. Check out Gymkhana 2 now on our SkiddPlayer.
Since Gymkhana 2, Block has entered the World Rally Championship in his Rally America Ford Fiesta competing against the likes of Sebastien Loeb and Kimi Räikkönen. Block’s managed to find some time to record his third sure to be YouTube hit, this time in a Ford Fiesta rather than a Subaru Impreza.
Power in the new GYM3 Ford Fiesta is far higher than Block’s WRC car and the suspension has been adapted to break traction more easily to allow Block to bring more incredible sideways action to our screens. Block added:
The goal is to create a vehicle intended for tarmac that drives as if it was on gravel. Plus, having explosive power and a trusty handbrake goes a long way too. And to help all of you tell the two cars apart, we even changed up the livery a bit, introducing the newer, bigger, and some may say better, drip pattern. Enjoy!
Look out for Gymkhana 3 this summer right here on SkiddMark and SkiddPlayer. In the meantime, click here to view the launch of the Gymkhana Three Ford Fiesta.
