Tonight in Munich Audi unveiled their latest offering, the A7. Pictures of the car leaked out onto the internet over the weekend, though we waited until the official launch before bringing you the fully confirmed and definite shots of the new car.
As the model number suggests, the A7 will slot in between the luxury A8 and the executive A6, further diversifying the range of models Audi offers. There are both diesel and petrol options available on the A7, with the top petrol engine being the 3.0L 296bhp supercharged option capable of 0-62mph in 5.6s and 34mpg against 190g/km of CO2. This option will also feature the S-tronic twin-clutch gearbox.
Those who prefer diesel will be able to choose from two versions of the 3-litre TDI engine. The cheapest option is a 201bhp/295 lb ft of torque box to tick, providing 53mpg and 139g/km of CO2. More poke is available with the 241bhp/369 lb ft option that will glide from standstill to 62mph in 6.5s, all whilst providing you with 47mpg and a mere 158g/km of CO2.
The A7 will go on sale this Autumn. The top of the line petrol 3.0L 296bhp is priced from £47,140 and the 3.0L 241bhp diesel from £46,970.
Would you have an A7 over a Mercedes CLS or BMW 5-series GT?
