When we caught up with Ken Block in Pembrokeshire last month, we discovered first-hand what his Gymkhana FOUR racecar looked like, we even learned what it sounds like, but Ken remained tight-lipped over the exact details of its powerplant. All he would say is that it’s a ‘Hybrid’ and that it was just as much fun as his 700-bhp Gymkhana 3 Ford Fiesta.
During the intervening month, Ken has been on tour – performing in the Gymkhana World Tour, which reaches Los Angeles tomorrow where he’ll officially unveil his Gymkhana FOUR racecar to the world.
In a message posted on Facebook this afternoon Block confirmed that his newest racecar would debut tomorrow, which he calls ‘The H.F.H.V’. It’s fairly safe to assume that one of the H’s stands for either Hooning or Hybrid, but we’ll soon find out.
After L.A. there’s less than 3 weeks to go until ‘Gymkhana FOUR’ is released on YouTube. Given the record-breaking 36 million views received for Gymkhana 3 you’d be forgiven for thinking his new release could be something of a let-down, but Block seems adamant that FOUR is even better.
If last year’s form is anything to go by, then expect a teaser video at least a week beforehand – it’s going to be awesome to see what he’s achieved this time around, but will it REALLY exceed the lofty heights scaled by Gymkhana 3?
