Focus: Green Car Design/Review – Special Paris Motor Show Edition

For the first time in the magazine’s brief history, Green Car Design has been chosen as an official media partner to Mondial de l’automobile 2012. It’s something founder Hannah Macmurray could never have imagined when she set out in 2008 to explore the juxtaposition between car design and greener forms of propulsion.

Hannah Macmurray, Editor of Green Car Design and who has worked in the design studios of Honda, Mercedes-Benz and Pininfarina.

Inside this special third edition of Green Car Design/Review, you’ll find stories on two of the most exciting eco-car projects in the world – the all-electric Lighting GT and the hydrogen-powered Riversimple. Each sits at either end of the green spectrum and offers a different perspective on zero-emissions motoring.

There’s also a guide to this year’s Paris Motor Show, plus a map of the Porte de Versailles Expo (you’ll need it) as well as several other stories from the Green Car Design website including; a performance hybrid comparison between BMW’s ActiveHybrid 3 and Infiniti’s M35h, plus an interview with Peugeot’s 208 Interior Design Manager, Anna Costamagna.

There’s also a look at Fiat’s 2-cylinder TwinAir invasion and Volkswagen’s revolutionary plans for cutting fuel economy, starting with the XL1 which goes into limited production in 2013.

Last but not least, you’ll find a guest article from yours truly called “Electric Dreams”, where I look at the new electric-powered ‘halo’ models from Jaguar, Porsche, Audi, Ferrari and BMW, and whether such desirable environmental supercars are good news for the development of cars you and I can buy.

We hope you enjoy this year’s Paris Motor Show, and don’t forget to check out all of this year’s developments on www.greencardesign.com.
