Based upon the Lotus Elise, the Venom GT combines a high-tech, lightweight British chassis with a powerful American V8 – The Venom GT’s base power plant is the supercharged 6.2 liter LS9 V8 (the same as in the Corvette ZR1) tweaked by Hennessey to 725 bhp. The company will also be offering 1000 bhp and 1200 bhp twin turbo V8 engine variants. The mid-engine V8 will transmit its power to the rear tires via a Ricardo 6-speed gearbox.

The Venom GT is light on its feet too, weighing in at a kerb weight of less than 1,071 kg (2,400 lbs) aided by its lightweight carbon fiber bodywork and carbon fiber wheels. Stopping power is delivered via Brembo brakes with 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston calipers in rear clamping down on 15-inch carbon ceramic rotors.

Hennessey will be building the power plants at its Texas facility. The engines will then be air freighted to the company’s assembly facility near Silverstone, England where the Venom GT is built and tested. Venom GT buyers will then be offered a 1-day driver orientation and instruction program by a Hennessey factory test driver, at a track in the UK or USA prior to delivery.

Production is limited to just 10 vehicles per year with over half that allocation already reserved, but we suspect a few more customers will be placing a call to Hennessey’s Sealy, Texas HQ after seeing this video. While we’re at it, I guess we should mention the technical specification of this Corvette C6 Black Force One from German Tuners, LOMA-Performance. It features a 784 bhp V8 engine with twin-turbochargers, which are claimed to propel the C6 BlackforceOne from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 206 mph.

C6 BlackforceOne production is strictly limited to 25 vehicles and comes with LOMA-Performance’s 12-month guarantee. The prices for a complete vehicle start at ‘just’ 190,000 euros in Germany.

The name C6.BlackforceOne is inspired by the legendary Boeing Air Force One of the United States president, and the C6.BlackforceOne is available in a choice of 3 choices paint colours; Stealth matt black, Eurofighter matt grey and White Storm matt white (although other colours are available on request).

It’s looks might not be to everbody’s taste but it’s the real deal when it comes to gasoline-fueled entertainement.

So, what is a GT500 Super Snake I hear you ask?

Well Shelby takes a Mustang GT500 with its supercharged 5.4 litre V8 and 500 hp output and then gives it a proper seeing to – the result is a less than modest 605 hp at 6250 rpm and 554 lbs-ft at 4500 rpm. Add in Baer 6-piston caliper brakes, Eibach suspension and Borla exhausts and you’ve got the proverbial american muscle car.   But you might be surprised to realise how well this all adds up to create a truly desirable drivers car.
