The first pictures of Subaru's BRZ leaked out last night, prior to its official launch at the Tokyo Motor Show. The BRZ, nicknamed Subieyota, is the company's first rear-wheel drive car and was developed together with Toyota's GT 86 (a.k.a. Toyobaru) which was unveiled at the weekend.

Yesterday we brought you news of the record lap set by British Rally Champion Mark Higgins around the 37.8-mile Isle of Man TT course in a production-spec Subaru WRX STi.

We know you'd much prefer to watch the lap being driven, rather read about it, however since we're still awaiting the official video, you'll have to make do with the spectacular image above showing British Rally Champion Mark Higgins flying (literally) around the Isle of Man TT course in his production-spec Subaru WRX STI saloon....

It's called the XV Concept, but it looks a lot like where Subaru are likely to be heading with a Forester replacement. Launched this morning at the Shanghai Auto Show, Subaru describes the XV Concept as "..defining a new generation of crossover vehicle, blending traditional SUV practicality within a fashionable form."

Subaru are now offering the characterful STI with an upgraded engine and a satellite navigation system as standard, with no increase in its on-the-road price of £32,995. So what's the catch? Well, as with all good offers this one's only available until June 31 2011.
