This evening, January 18th, Cadillac Racing is holding a live web chat with its 2011 driver pairing from 8:00 – 8:30 pm Eastern Time (01:00 – 01:30 am GMT). It’s a great opportunity to get under the skin of a new race programme and rekindle your motorsport vibe as the 2011 season begins to kick-off.
Drivers Johnny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim, fresh from testing the CTS-V Coupe racecar, V-Series Racing Marketing Manager John Kraemer and Cadillac Global Marketing Manager Jim Vurpillat will host the web chat. Both O’Connell and Pilgrim will be driving the CTS-V Coupe in the 2011 SCCA World Challenge GT racing series.
The World Challenge series is designed to provide teams, manufacturers and aftermarket suppliers a competitive production-based race series in which to prove their products. The races follow a 50-minute maximum time limit, with the number of laps and total distance determined by track configuration, lap times and race conditions. Sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, World Challenge races at North America’s premier road and temporary street courses.
Cadillac captured the GT Manufacturer’s Championship in 2005 and 2007 and the GT Driver’s Championship in 2005 with the CTS-V Sport Sedan and will field two teams in the upcoming 2011 World Challenge GT season with the CTS-V Coupe.

The CTS-V line, which also includes the CTS-V Sedan and CTS-V Wagon, was recently named to Car and Driver magazine’s 10 Best list for 2011. Johnny O’Connell, a three-time GT1 champion in the America Le Mans Series, and Andy Pilgrim, who won the 2005 World Challenge GT Driver’s Championship in a Cadillac, will be behind the wheel of the CTS-V racecars.
