Bertone celebrates reveals a shooting brake Aston Martin Rapide

The Bertone Jet 2+2 was originally commissioned by an Aston Martin collector, and Bertone were so thrilled by the end result they decided to showcase it at next week’s Geneva Motor Show.

The Jet 2+2 celebrate sixty years of collaboration between Aston Martin and Bertone and one hundred years of Aston Martin as a car maker.

Based on the 470bhp engine and drive-train of the original Rapide (rather than the more powerful 550bhp version from the new Rapide S), the Jet 2+2 was developed by “Bertone Officina”, the high fashion atelier who tailor make cars for special customers.

While the car retains the Rapide’s two-plus-two configuration, rear-seat passengers gain notably more headroom. The C-pillars are bent forwards and blend with the muscular rear haunches, while two horizontal rear lights accentuate the width of the hatchback body.

The rear seats are also foldable, providing van-like versatility for those occasions when an artisan cupboard needs transporting around.

The interior is upholstered with two-tone leather, while the wood trim is enhanced with glazed aluminium, providing the same effect as a tailor-made suit.
