Hollywood star Patrick Dempsey is at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR this weekend, as he joins team mates Joe Foster and…
They say ‘competition improves the breed’, well if that’s the case then the partnership between Caterham and Renault’s Alpine brand has just received an…
Picture the race livery of a factory Porsche from the ’70s or 80’s and chances are you’ll either think of the blue and orange colours of Gulf Oil, or the red and blue stripes of Martini Racing. So it makes an evocative statement to see those Martini colours on Porsche’s 918 Spyder prototype, a road car which might just make an appearance in competition during the next few years.
In the build up to this year’s Le Mans 24 Hour race, Michelin has interviewed various members of the Audi Motorsport team to get an insight on what it takes to win at the world’s most prestigious endurance race, which takes place this weekend (16-17 June).
With Audi, BMW, Lexus and Aston Martin competing for the limelight, you’d be forgiven for not realising that another premium brand – Jaguar, has a story to tell about last weekend’s Nurburgring 24 Hour race.
GT Academy – it’s the automotive equivalent of X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent, but is proving rather more successful at finding ‘real’ talent. Ex-Formula One driver and BBC F1 presenter, Martin Brundle, will join his son Alex at the wheel of the Nissan-powered Greaves Motorsport LMP2 prototype at next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 16-17).
I love this image. It’s from last weekend’s Intercontinental Le Mans Challenge (ILMC) 6-hour race at Silverstone and depicts a meeting of two generations of Le Mans Audis – the current R18 TDI and R8C from 1999.
I’m a great believer in the power of online video, for telling a story but also in reaching an audience beyond that which the written word can achieve. Consider how moving pictures can transcend the language barrier – even without subtitles, but we’ve also been observing the levels of engagement on SkiddPlayer of less-obvious viewers, such as women and 50-70 year olds.
