BMW’s New M3 and M5 M Performance Editions go on sale

Would you like one? BMW are producing a limited run of M Performance Editions for the BMW M3 and BMW M5 – just for the UK market. Fitted with their familiar 414bhp and 552bhp V8 engines, the new BMW M3 M Performance Edition will cost £74,080, while the BMW M5 M Performance Edition will set you back a cool £95,140.

BMW Zagato Coupé revealed at Villa d’Este

BMW and Zagato have collaborated on a stylish new coupé which will premiere at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Although purely a one-off, the last car Zagato created for Villa d’Este was the Aston Martin V12 Zagato, which enters production later this year.

BMW gives the 7 Series a mid-life LCI boost

“LCI” or Life Cycle Impulse is BMW’s terminology for a mid-life facelift and with the 7 Series now half-way through its 7-year lifespan BMW engineers have been hard at work sprucing, fettling and updating their flagship model.

Bentley leads the Nürburgring 24 Hours

The 40th running of the Nürburgring 24 Hour race is well underway, with the BMW Z4 GT3 of Team Schubert currently in the lead after 23 laps. But just a few hours earlier, the front row was dominated by no less than six Bentleys.

Up until now, to be included in BMW’s M Performance range required a strict anti-gasoline policy, but with the M135i we finally have an ‘M Performance’ car that sounds (and smells) more like an M car should.

It’s the first 1 Series to receive the ‘M Performance’ treatment, which is intended to bridge the gap between ‘full’ M cars (such as M3, M5, M6) and BMW’s standard range of performance cars.
