The launch of Aston Martin’s range-topping DBS replacement, originally codenamed AM 310, seems to have become another in a long line of PR shambles, with the inevitable ‘leaked’ images making their way onto the interweb days before the official release.
After its appearance at last weekend’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the AM310 concept car will be appearing at some of this year’s big summer events, including the Goodwood Festival Speed later this month.
Even if you’re not a classic car buff, there was still plenty to feast your eyes on at The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2012 this past weekend.
Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is becoming a bit like Goodwood’s Festival of Speed, where it may have started out as a celebration of historic cars, it has now become a popular launch spot for several car makers to show their most beautiful pre-production ‘new’ models.
Fiennes Restoration is probably the most successful British engineering firm you’ve never heard of. Case in point – their machine shop boasts the highest number of CNC tooling machines used by an independent UK specialist restorer.
The more I see the XKR-S, the more I warm to its smack-you-in-the-face looks, which convey in a far from subtle manner that…er, the XKR-S is anything but subtle. Quite the opposite to the elegant style we’ve come to expect from Jaguar in recent years, and in stark contrast to the graceful beauty of the classic E-type.
When did you last regard a journey by motor car as an adventure? The Morgan 3 Wheeler is launched to bring the fun and passion back to personal transport. Lift the safety catch from the “bomb release” starter, hear the massive twin cylinders detonate and choose your favourite destination.
Do not adjust your TV sets – or whatever we end up coining as the appropriate phrase when we click on a website and find the content differs from what we expected. But what at first seems like an unlikely choice of car to feature in SkiddMark, is actually one of the one of the world’s first ‘sports cars’.
Yesterday, Jayne Jones of the Morgan Motor Company confirmed the launch of a new Morgan 3-Wheeler at next year’s Geneva Show.
She went on to say that the maker of fine British sports cars, whose business was founded on the design and production of 3-wheeled vehicles, anticipates the price tag to be “under £30,000″. Enthusiast and potential customers do not have long to wait for more information as she added that details of the car’s design and power plant would be revealed in November 2010. We can’t wait.
