2013 Aston Martin DB9 is a DBS with more polished manners

For those of us who bemoan the passing of Aston’s DBS – which was replaced by the new Vanquish during the summer – news of the revised DB9 will come as welcome news.

The DB9 now has the same 510bhp power output as the outgoing DBS, the same pronounced rear boot ‘flip’ and more chiselled looks than the car it replaces.

After its appearance at last weekend’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the AM310 concept car will be appearing at some of this year’s big summer events, including the Goodwood Festival Speed later this month.

Frankfurt 2011: Aston Martin DBS Carbon Edition

Aston Martin will premiere two new model variants at the Frankfurt Motor Show, when it opens its doors to the media tomorrow morning. The DBS Carbon Edition will be available in both Coupe and Volante form and will be available in two new colours including Flame Orange and Ceramic Grey together with the existing Carbon Black.

Earlier this year if you remember, Finland’s four-time world rally champion Juha Kankkunen drove a Bentley Continental Supersports convertible at 205.48 mph on the frozen Baltic Sea, off the coast of Finland. Geneva Watch: Bentley debuts Conti Supersports ‘Ice Speed Record’

As the 81st Geneva Motor Show gets underway, Bentley announces today its most potent and radically styled convertible ever – the 202mph (325km/h) Supersports ‘Ice Speed Record’ convertible.

Just a fortnight ago four-time World Rally Champion Juha Kankkunen, set a new World Ice Speed Record in a Bentley Continental Supersports convertible on the hazardous frozen waters of the Baltic Sea, off the coast of Finland. He reached a breathtaking 205.48 mph (330.695 km/h) in the Conti Supersports, breaking his own 2007 record of 199.83 mph (321.6 km/h) set in a Continental GT coupe at the same location.
