Type R MUGEN 2.2 provides a fitting swansong for the Honda Civic

Honda’s Civic 237 bhp Type R MUGEN first emerged on the scene in 2010 – a hand-built, motorsport-derived hot hatch, with a 20-strong limited edition production run. But despite the appeal of its unique specification, only 16 cars were sold.

With the 9th generation Civic soon to be revealed at Frankfurt, Northampton-based MUGEN Euro have worked their magic again, producing a final version of the MUGEN Type R with even more power and torque.

A quick glimpse of Honda’s New Civic..

Honda have provided us with a quick glimpse of the New European Civic, prior to its launch at the Frankfurt motor show next month.

The image shows the New Civic’s rear-end with its combination lighting that also works as an aerodynamic spoiler, managing air flow over the top and sides of the car. It looks to be something of an evolutionary change from the 8th generation Civic, which shocked us back in 2006 with its radical new profile and even more radical interior design.

Honda Racing produces 4-part BTCC documentary (w/VIDEOS)

Honda Racing Team has produced four short documentary films on its participation in the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. Each film will focus on what drives the Honda Racing Team to achieve success in one of Britain’s biggest and most exciting race series. The first documentary, produced by leading short film label, Future Shorts, will be released in late August, ahead of Rounds 19-21 of the BTCC at Knockhill.

Honda CR-Z gets the thumbs-up from HRC MotoGP stars

The announcement from Honda says, “Repsol Honda MotoGP riders Dani Pedrosa, Andrea Dovizioso and Casey Stoner have shown their support for the new sporty Honda CR-Z by displaying the logo on their racing leathers”, however you can just imagine the conversation between Honda’s PR rep and ex-MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner.
