Introducing the Porsche 918 RSR (incl. VIDEO)

As expected Porsche have revealed their new 918 RSR mid-engine coupé, based on the 918 Spyder Concept and to be used as a technology test bed for future hybrid vehicles. Porsche are saying that the 918 RSR is purely a ‘test bed’ and they have no plans at this stage for a a motorsport programme.

In a sense we already know that it will be a fully-manufactured product based on the gorgeous 918 Spyder Concept, the mid-engine hybrid concept sports car first revealed by Porsche at Geneva last March.

McLaren goes GT3 racing with the MP4-12C

McLaren have confirmed today that it plans to return to GT sports car racing from 2012. McLaren and CRS Racing will supply and support a limited number of GT3 racing cars based on the McLaren MP4-12C high-performance sports car for European-based privateers.

Special Edition Jaguar XFR goes on sale to boost poppy appeal

Stratstone Jaguar has pledged to donate up to £5,000 to the Royal British Legion, raised through the sale of its limited edition Jaguar XFRs.

The announcement was made in the week that Stratstone dealerships across the UK commenced the first customer deliveries of the strictly limited exclusive models.

Peugeot’s 90X Le Mans challenger breaks cover

Peugeot put up a thrilling fight at Le Mans in 2010 as they sought to retain their 2009 title against the onslaught of those indomitable Audis. But their campaign ended in misery after all three cars suffered the same engine failure. Olivier Quesnel, Head of Peugeot Sport said at the time, “However much work you put in, it’s Le Mans itself that decides who walks away with the trophy.”
