Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 makes its Asian debut in China

The V12 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 made its Asian debut this morning on Lamborghini’s stand at the Auto Shanghai 2011. The event also marked the launch of the Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore at a special off-site event held in the Shanghai Expo. The LP 550-2 Tricolore was developed to pay homage to Italy, but this was the first time it had been shown in China.

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 sells out fast

It looks like the Aventador LP700-4 is not only ‘fast’ in terms of its performance – 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds – but also in how quickly Lamborghini are able to sell them. In less than a month since being launched at the Geneva Motor Show, the first year’s allocation has already sold out and you’ll already be looking towards 2013 for the next available production slot.

These most recent pictures provide a better view of a new Lamborghini colour, which we understand to be called Arancio Argos – and which in case you’re wondering is an orange rather than red hue.

If you think back to previous Lamborghini launches the focus has been firmly on the glitz, glamour and sheer celebrity of the car, which can be a frustrating experience for an enthusiast when all you’d like to see is someone crack open the throttle and silence all the polite conversation.

On the eve of Lamborghini’s new Aventador LP700-4 due to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show, German tuner edo competition have stolen some of Lamborghini’s limelight by launching their own Murciélago replacement – or at least if not a replacement, a car which might tempt LP700-4 buyers to stay with the Murciélago just a little while longer.
