Just in case you haven’t yet fallen in love with McLaren’s 12C Spider, the following new gallery might just push you over the edge. The colour is Supernova Silver and it joins Azure Blue, Volcano Yellow and Volcano Red, which the Spider has thus far been shown in.
McLaren’s newest production model, the convertible version of the car formerly known as MP4-12C, made its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August. Since then it’s been awarded ‘Best Exotic’ by the editors of duPont REGISTRY and spawned a limited 12-car run Neiman Marcus Edition.

In a world first for a mid-engined sports car, the 458 Spider is equipped with a Ferrari patented fully retractable hard top, but where most hard top convertibles gain significant weight during such a transition, Ferrari’s 458 Spider made entirely from aluminium is 25 kg lighter than a traditional folding soft-top weighing in at around 50kg more than the 458 Italia.

Alfa Romeo revealed its much-rumoured 4C sports car concept at Geneva today, generating one of the biggest scrums of the day as photographers fought to capture those all important first images. The 4C Concept follows on from the success of the 8C Competizione and Spider, but rather than the £100k plus price tag of its elder sibling the 4C is likely to be much more affordable when it eventually goes on sale.
