Speaking from my own personal experience, it takes more than a hike in brake horse power to justify a lofty price. Vauxhall would like…
Ariel has announced the latest generation of its exoskeletal sports car, representing a natural evolution on from the current Atom 3. The new Atom 3.5 incorporates several design, detail and power upgrades that Ariel hope will retain its title as one of the fastest and most fun lightweight sports cars that money can buy.
This is what all the fuss was about leading up to the Frankfurt show, and the subject of that controversial pugilistic video we showed you last week. It’s the 345 bhp 3.5-litre V6 Supercharged Exige S.
With just over a week to go until it’s unveiling at the Frankfurt motor show, Jaguar has released another image – this time of the soon-to-be-revealed C-X16 sports car hiding under the covers during filming in the Graian Italian Alps.
As teasers go, it’s distinctly underwhelming, but it got me thinking about the location of the film shoot and what this tells us about Jaguar’s new 911 rival.
It’s motor show time, so Lotus have given us another riddle to solve – 3 new cars, 2 new options AND 1 special limited edition. Thankfully they’ve given us part of the answer, but they’re keeping 2 of the new models a secret until they’re revealed on 13 September in Frankfurt.
The more I see the XKR-S, the more I warm to its smack-you-in-the-face looks, which convey in a far from subtle manner that…er, the XKR-S is anything but subtle. Quite the opposite to the elegant style we’ve come to expect from Jaguar in recent years, and in stark contrast to the graceful beauty of the classic E-type.
These are exciting times for Jaguar, remarkably so given how recent their Tata owners were seeking a substantial injection of working capital from the British Government. Jaguar Land Rover have turned around their business in very short order, producing more than £200m in profit per quarter in 2010.
Jaguar will launch its most powerful ever production car, at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1st.
This all-new XKR-S will broaden the appeal of the XK range combining GT luxury with incredible performance, with its more powerful supercharged V8 engine, uprated suspension and a new aerodynamic design. the XKR-S is the ultimate expression of Jaguar’s long held duality of purpose: GT luxury with incredible performance.
German tuning company NOVITEC Rosso have spruced up Ferrari’s folding-roof California in its own inimitable style. The California’s 4.3-litre V8-engine receives a supercharger lifting its power from the standard car’s 453 bhp to a more visceral 597 bhp. Novitec Ross have named the resulting model, the RACE 606, which is perhaps no worse than a car originally named after a sunny North American state, but neither does it show a great deal of imagination (the 606 referring to the new power output in PS – Pferdestärke).
Stratstone Jaguar has pledged to donate up to £5,000 to the Royal British Legion, raised through the sale of its limited edition Jaguar XFRs.
The announcement was made in the week that Stratstone dealerships across the UK commenced the first customer deliveries of the strictly limited exclusive models.
The transformation is almost complete and judging by its latest models, Jaguar have a strong future ahead.
Have we reached the end of the road for performance cars, or are we just at the beginning?
