New Toyota FT-86 II Concept to be revealed at Geneva

Do you remember the FT-86 Concept? The compact Toyota coupe that revived our deep longings for a modern-day Hachi-Roku (AE86 Corolla Coupe) and was coined Toyobaru, due to the fact that the compact rear-drive sports coupe was being jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru.

That was in 2009, so two-year’s on and it’s time for a new interpretation of the Toyota FT-86 sports concept vehicle, this time known as the FT-86 II, which will make its world premiere at the 2011 Geneva motor show.

The Toyota FT-86 II builds on the original concept and will give the clearest indication yet of the final design for Toyota’s next sports car.

Toyota’s sports car history goes back more than 50 years and the company says that this new concept ‘embodies the company’s reborn passion for sports car driving’. Let’s hope so.
