Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake | Video
Is it really possible to have ‘too much’ power? Chris Harris ponders the question when he drives the 605bhp Shelby GT500 Super Snake – a car which in the ranks of muscle cars is clearly in the heavyweight bodybuilder category.
It’s looks might not be to everbody’s taste but it’s the real deal when it comes to gasoline-fueled entertainement.
Have a look at the video and make sure you read the accompanying first drive;

January 9, 2009Great video, just wish it was longer. Also, why are the 3 elements not linked? video, review and audio?
Keep the the great work; special cars like this are what makes the site special.

January 11, 2009Dear Mr Harris,
I find your lack of “bottle” disappointing. I expect a full performance test of the 725hp “Super Duper Snake” on the Nordschleife in monsoonal rain and an ambient of no great than 5C….with TC off to make amends.
Regards
ScottyKidding of course. Obviously driving such a car every day might become wearing, but what a giggle and rush it must be!! Did anyone else happen to notice that the rise of the fall of the supercharger whine in concert with the amount of throttle, makes it sounds like even the car itself is screaming in terror???

January 11, 2009The supercharger sounded like it was hissing to me, which would be appropriate given the name.
Looks like a lot of fun. I too would have liked to have seen a longer video and some more photos of the car.
